1.Cupping Therapy

(Al-Hijama)

*

ayyad 11.12.09 - 07:16pm
Cupping (hijama) is the best remedy recommended and used by the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam). The Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, Indeed the best of remedies you have is cupping (hijama) [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5371)]. He (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) also said that on the night of Israa (his ascension to the heavens) he (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) did not pass by an angel except that it said to him, Oh Muhammad, order your Ummah (nation) with cupping (hijama). [Saheeh Sunan Tirmidhee (3479)]. This shows the importance and greatness of this Sunnah.

'Hijama' in arabic is derived from 'hajm' which means 's*cking'. Cupping (hijama) is the process of applying cups to various points on the body by removing the air inside the cups to form a vacuum. *

ayyad 11.12.09 - 07:22pm
Cupping (hijama) is of three types:

*
Dry cupping (hijama) - This is the process of using a vacuum on different areas of the body in order to gather the blood in that area without incisions (small, light scratches using a sterile surgical blade or disinfected razor).

*
Dry massage cupping (hijama) This is similar to dry cupping (hijama) but olive oil is applied to the skin (before applying the cups) in order to allow easy movement of the cups.

70% of diseases, pains and ailments are due to the blood being unable to reach certain parts of the body. Dry cupping (hijama) and dry massaging cupping (hijama) allow the blood to reach these places. *

ayyad 11.12.09 - 07:24pm
The Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, For every disease there is a cure so if the medicine comes upon the disease it cures it by the will of Allaah, the Most High. [Saheeh Muslim (2204)]. *

ayyad 11.12.09 - 07:25pm
*
Wet cupping (hijama) - This is the process of using a vacuum at different points on the body but with incisions in order to remove 'harmful' blood which lies just beneath the surface of the skin. (It is recommended that wet cupping (hijama) is only administered by a cupping the ).

We will run cupping (hijama) courses for wet cupping (hijama) inshAllah. Please join our FREE newsletter and we will keep you updated inshAllah.
Wet cupping (hijama) is best administered at certain times of the day and days of the week. Please see our 'Authentic Narrations' page for further details.
Wet cupping (hijama) is from the Sunnah. To obtain maximum benefit from cupping (hijama), it is recommended that all three methods of cupping are used.

*

ayyad 11.12.09 - 07:27pm
Cupping (hijama) is a cure for every disease if performed in its correct time. The Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, Indeed in cupping (hijama) there is a cure. [Saheeh Muslim (5706)]. *

3.Talbina *

ayyad 11.12.09 - 07:59pm
Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) used to recommend talbina for the sick and for one who was grieving over a dead person. She (may Allaah be pleased with her) said, I heard the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) saying, ' The talbina gives rest to the heart of the patient and makes it active and relieves some of his sorrow and grief.' [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5325)]. *

ayyad 11.12.09 - 08:02pm
Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) said that whenever one of her relatives died, the women assembled and then dispersed (returned to their houses) except her relatives and close friends. She (may Allaah be pleased with her) would order that a pot of talbina be cooked. Then Tharid (a dish prepared from meat and bread) would be prepared and the talbina would be poured over it. Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) would say (to the women), Eat of it, for I heard the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) saying, 'The talbina soothes the heart of the patient and relieves him from some of his sadness.' [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5058)].

Hisham's father (may Allaah be pleased with them) said, Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) used to recommend talbina and used to say,'It is disliked (by the patient) although it is beneficial.' '' [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5326) *

ayyad 11.12.09 - 08:03pm
The Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, I encourage you to use that which is disliked but beneficial (Talbina) for by the One whose hand Muhammad's soul is in, it cleans the stomach of one of you just as dirt is cleaned from the face with water. [Mustadrak of Haakim (7455), Saheeh as Dhahabi mentioned in 'Talkhees' taken from Maktaba Shaamilah, See also Mustadrak (8245) whose chain is upon the condition of Bukhaaree as Dhahabi mentioned].

Aisha (may Allaah be pleased with her) narrated, If any of the Messenger's (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) family became ill, the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) would say, 'It (talbina) soothes the grieving heart and cleanses the ailing heart just as one of you cleans dirt off his face with water.' [Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah (3445), hadeeth hasan].

Aishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, You should eat the beneficial thing that is unpleasant to eat (Talbina), meaning broth. If any member of the Messenger of Allaah's family was sick, the cooking pot would remain on the fire until one of two things happened, either the person recovered or died. [Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah (3446) hadeeth hasan *

ayyad 14.12.09 - 08:55pm
HONEY
'And thy Lord taught the bee to build its cells in hills, on trees and in (men's) habitations.... there emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colours, in which there is a healing for people. Verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought'. [Soorah Nahl: 68-69].

The Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, There is a cure in three substances, a drink of honey [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree (5356)].

Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated, A man came to the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) and said, my brother has pain in his stomach, so the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, give him honey to drink. The man came back and said, O Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam), it only increased his illness! So the Messenger (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said, Give him honey to drink. The man came back and said, O Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam), it only increased his illness! The Messenger of Allaah (Sallallaahu layhi Wasallam) said Allaah spoke the truth and your brother's belly has lied. Go and give him honey to drink. He went and gave him honey and was cured. [Saheeh al-Bukhaaree, Book of medicine (5684), Saheeh Muslim (2217)].
*

ayyad 14.12.09 - 08:56pm

ayyad 9.02.10 - 05:33pm
Olives and Olive Oil *

ayyad 9.02.10 - 05:33pm

The olive comes from a blessed tree and Allah mentioned it seven times in the Quran.

Allah said:

By the fig and the olive

(95:1) *

ayyad 9.02.10 - 05:34pm
Sheikh Abdulrahman as-Sadi (may Allah have mercy on him) said in explaning this Verse:

Allah swore by these two trees due to the immense benefit contained in these trees and likewise in their fruit. *

ayyad 9.02.10 - 05:36pm
Allah says:

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.

The parable of His Light is as a niche within it a lamp:

The lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, but whose oil would almost glow forth, though no fire touched it.

Light upon Light!

(24: 35) *

ayyad 9.02.10 - 05:37pm
Imam Ash-Shawkani (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in his tafseer collection Fathul Qadeer, that olive oil comes from a blessed tree as Allah mentions and that it also comes from a blessed land. He also mentioned that the arabs used to use olive oil for their hair. *

ayyad 9.02.10 - 05:38pm
Allah says:

He it is Who sends down water from the sky; from it you drink and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture.

With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit.

Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought.

SIWAK OR THOOTHSTICK!! *

ayyad 6.03.10 - 05:52pm
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, Had I not thought it difficult for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the Miswak (tooth-stick) before every Salat.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: We learn from this Hadith that the Prophet (SAW) liked to clean his teeth with Miswak (a softened stick used as tooth brush for cleaning the teeth) with every Salat, but he did not made it obligatory for the reason that it would be inconvenient for his followers. It shows that he was extremely affectionate and kind to his Ummah.

This Hadith also shows that using Miswak is an admirable act. Every Muslim should make it a routine to use it as frequently as possible especially before performing prayers. *

ayyad 6.03.10 - 05:53pm
Hudaifah (RA) reported: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (SAW) got up (from sleep), he would rub his teeth with Miswak (tooth-stick).[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: When a person awakes from sleep, he has an unpleasant breath because of the smell in his mouth. For this reason, the Prophet (SAW) would cleanse his teeth with Miswak. We should also follow him and make this Sunnah a routine.

Aishah (Ra) reported: We used to prepare for the Messenger of Allah (SAW) a Miswak (tooth-stick) and the water for making Wudu'. Whenever Allah wished to awaken him from sleep at night, he (SAW) would brush his teeth with Miswak, make Wudu', and perform Salat. [Muslim].

Commentary: This Hadith shows how particular the Prophet (SAW) was about using Miswak. Besides pointing out the importance of Miswak, it also throws light on the noble conduct of the wives of the Prophet (SAW) as it shows how keen they were about his needs, habits and temperament.
*

ayyad 6.03.10 - 05:54pm
Anas (RA)reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, I stress upon you to use Miswak (tooth-stick).''[Al-Bukhari].

Shuraih bin Hani (RA) reported: I asked Aishah (Ra): What was the first thing which the Prophet (SAW) would do when he entered his house?'' She replied: He would use Miswak (tooth-stick).''[Muslim].

Abu Musa Al-Ashari (RA) reported: I came to the Prophet (SAW) once and noticed the tip of Miswak (tooth-stick) on his tongue.
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Aishah (Ra) reported: The Prophet (SAW) said, The Miswak (tooth-stick) cleanses and purifies the mouth and pleases the Rubb.''
[An-Nasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah].

Commentary: Mataharah'' means a medium and means of purification. Mitaharah means an instrument/tool for purification. In other words, on the one side, Miswak is a means of cleaning and purifying the mouth, and on the other, a way to attain the Pleasure of Allah. *

ayyad 6.03.10 - 05:56pm
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Prophet (SAW) said, There are five acts which conform to the pure nature: Circumcision, removing of the pubic hair, clipping the nails, plucking the underarm hair and t the moustache.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Commentary: Fitrah literally means beginning, innovation, invention or making something altogether new, but here it means instinct or such nature or disposition which is inborn. Some people have defined it as that old way which was liked by all the Prophets and on which all the Divine laws had full agreement. That is to say, they are natural to man. In any case, one should adopt all these five good qualities in such a way as if they are a part of his nature. Moreover, they are also highly important from the point of view of cleanliness and purification.
*

ayyad 6.03.10 - 05:56pm
Aishah (Ra) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, There are ten demands of pure nature: t the moustache, letting the beard grow, using Miswak (tooth-stick), snuffing up water into the nose (in ablution), paring the nails, washing the bases of the finger joints; plucking the underarm hair, removing of the pubic hair and removing impurities with water from the affected part after a call of nature.''

The subnarrator said: I forgot the tenth but it might possibly be the rinsing of the mouth (in ablution). [Muslim].

Commentary: This Hadith tells us about ten qualities which are natural to human beings. Some Ulama' are of the opinion that the tenth quality among them is circumcision. Anyway, the importance of these ten qualities and the stress on them are evident. The first thing among them is the t of moustache. This is Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW) and is meant to cut the projected hair on the upper lip. *

Black Seed
The Universal Remedy
*

ayyad 25.03.10 - 05:33pm
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, Black Seed is the cure for all ailments except death. (Narrated Burda; Masnad Ahmed). *

ayyad 25.03.10 - 05:35pm
For centuries, the Black Seed herb and oil has been used by millions of people in Asia, Middle East, and Africa to support their health. An aromatic spice, similar looking to sesame seed except black in color, it has been traditionally used for a variety of conditions and treatments related to respiratory health, stomach and intestinal health, kidney and liver function, circulatory and immune system support, and for general overall well-being. Black Seed is also known as Black c*min, Black Caraway Seed, Habbatul Baraka (the Blessed Seed), and by its botanical name Nigella Sativa.
Since 1959, over 200 studies at international universities and articles published in various journals have shown remarkable results supporting its traditional uses recorded almost 1400 years ago.
While the Black Seed is highly effective by itself, ongoing studies with the combination of other herbs have produced remarkable results.
Amazingly Black Seed's chemical composition is very rich and diverse. Aside from its primary ingredient, crystalline nigellone, Black Seed contains 15 amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, both fixed oils (84% fatty acids, including linolenic, and oleic), and volatile oils, alkaloids, saponin, and crude fiber, as well as minerals such as calcium, iron, sodium and potassium. There are still many components in Black Seed that haven't been identified. But research is going on around the world
*

ayyad 25.03.10 - 05:35pm
Muslims have been using and promoting the use of the Black seed or Al-Habbatus-Sawdaa for hundreds of years. It has become very popular in recent years and is sold by many Muslim and non-Muslim businesses. A large part of this herbal preparation's popularity is based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). *

ayyad 25.03.10 - 05:36pm
The Prophet Muhammad(peace and blessings be upon him) said, There is healing in the black seed for all diseases except death. However, many products that are presently sold as black seed may be black c*min, black caraway, or even coriander. As-Suyuti's Medicine of The Prophet Muhammad(peace and blessings be upon him) has black seed listed as coriander seeds, with arguments presented for black c*min, terebinth, and even mustard. However, research seems to favor black c*min or Nigella sativa as the black seed. Black c*min may be referred to as nutmeg flower or roman coriander, and even fennel flower by gardeners.
Black c*min has been used for a variety of medical problems for several thousand years. They range from stomach aches to asthma, cancer to coughs, and the traditional use as a spice. Black c*min is also used as:
a carminative (rids the body of gas from the intestines), a digestive (aids in digestion),
a diuretic (increases urine flow by ridding the body of excess water),
an emmenagogue(promotes/regulates menstruation),
a galactagogue (increases production of milk),
a resolvent (dissolves boils & swelling),
a stimulant (increases the flow of adrenaline and energy),
a stomachic (relieves stomach disorders),
a sudorific (increases perspiration),
a tonic (improves bodily functions),
and a vermifuge (expels worms

ayyad 25.03.10 - 05:37pm
HADEETH & ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE ON BLACK SEED;
1. The Prophet (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, Black c*mmin (Habbas-Sauda) is the cure for all the diseases except Saam and Saam is death ' (Narrated Abu Huraira; Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Maja, Masnad Ahmad).
2. I came to Madina with Ghalib bin Al-Jabr. During the journey, Ghalib fell ill. Ibn Atique came to see him and said that Ayesha (radhiyallahu anha) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) said, Black c*min is remedy for all diseases. We powdered Black c*min, mixed with olive oil and dropped it in both the nostrils (of Ghalib). We did it and Ghalib recovered. (Narrated Khalid Bin Saad, Ibn Maja, BuKhari).
3. The Messenger (sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) of Allah said, Black c*min is the cure for all ailments except death. (Narrated Burda; Masnad Ahmed)
4. The Messenger(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) of Allah said, Make Black c*min obligatory (its use as medicine) for yourself as it is a cure for every disease except saam . Someone asked, 'What is saam. He said, Death. (Narrated Ayesha- Masnad Ahmed, Abdullah bin Umar - Ibn Maja; Abu Huraira - Tirmidhi). *
